Affirmative Action is alive and well!
Back pay and forced job offers are a real and active part of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) settlements. In a recent settlement with the OFCCP, Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated after eight years of negotiations, is handing out $495,000.00 in back pay and interest to ninety-five African-American and Hispanic job applicants who were turned down for jobs by Coca-Cola. They will also receive job offers and those hired will have retroactive seniority.
